Hi Hugo,

thanks for the report.  Please try the PPL 1.1 snapshot
available at

   http://bugseng.com/products/ppl/download/ftp/snapshots/

and let us know how it goes.
If the problem persists, please send the config.log file (compressed)
that is created at configure time.
