That would be a problem if we switch to another VC system.  We are
currently considering moving to git, and I do not know up to what
point we will be able to keep an increasing revision number.  In
abscense of it, I'd add something as:

  Only versions of Ciao Prolog dated later than Oct. 15th, 2008
  (corresponding to SVN revision 9859) are supported.  If in doubt,
  please check with the Ciao developers (ciao at clip.dia.fi.upm.es) how
  to have access to such a version.

Does everyone else agree?
