Log message:
	The Comeau and Intel C++ compilers are actually right: if
	check_result() has internal linkage (is declared static) then,
	according to section 14.6.4.2 of the C++ standard (Candidate
	Functions), it is not a candidate function and thus it is not found by
	the name lookup mechanism.
